Dr. Vittoria Doretti is a distinguished professional with a remarkable career in various fields of expertise.
She holds the esteemed title of Officer of the Order of the Merit of the Republic (O.M.R.I.), the highest honour of the Italian Republic, a recognition of her outstanding contributions to society.
With a background in Cardiology, Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and Bioethics, Dr. Doretti has displayed her versatility by excelling in diverse areas, including the organization of Basic Health Services and Forensic Sciences, with a focus on Criminology, Security, Investigations, and Intelligence.
Currently serving as the Director of the Departmental Area for Health Promotion and Ethics and President of the Joint Committee for Equal Opportunity at Azienda Usl Toscana Sud Est, Dr. Doretti has also taken on the role of DE&I manager, championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace.
As the Head of the "Rose Code" Regional Network in Tuscany, she has played a pivotal role in creating an access path to the Emergency Department, specifically designed for women, children, and victims of hate crimes.
In academia, Dr. Doretti serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Florence, sharing her knowledge and expertise with the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Her extensive collaborations on both national and international levels with various Ministries, agencies, and institutions reflect her commitment to gender policies, the fight against violence targeting women and minors, and efforts to combat hate crimes.
Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Doretti has earned numerous awards and commendations in Italy and abroad. Her notable roles include membership in the working group against violence targeting women and minors, and participation in the working group on gender medicine for FNOMCeO (National Federation of the Orders of Surgeons and Dentists).
Dr. Doretti's dedication is further evident in her role as an Expert Member for proven and high professionalism in the Technical Scientific Committee of the National Observatory on the phenomenon of violence against women and domestic violence at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
She also serves as the Scientific Coordinator of the Biennial National Project 2021-23, focusing on strategies for the prevention of violence against women and minors, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This project, known as #Ipaziaccm2021, is a collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Region of Tuscany.
Dr. Doretti's commitment extends to advocacy for women with disabilities as the Coordinator of the Working Group "Women With Disabilities" of the CTS of the National Observatory on the Condition of Persons with Disabilities at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
In the realm of policy-making, she contributes as a Consultant to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry about Feminicide and all forms of gender-based violence in the Senate of the Republic. Furthermore, Dr. Doretti serves as an Expert in the Working Group on Gender Violence for the Women20-Engagement Group of the G20, a testament to her influence on the global stage.
